Brief Profile of JOAFRICO JOAFRICO Industries and Trading Enterprise is an indigenous Ghanaian handicraft company. It is a sole proprietorship enterprise established in 1988 as a retail and distribution enterprise with Joseph Okai-Afrain as its Managing proprietor. JOAFRICO exports its handicrafts to USA and some EU countries. The enterprise specializes in a wide range wood carvings such as: Ashanti stools, masks, dolls, figures, household accessories, coffee tables, fish shaped trays, fruit bowls, book ends, drums, gift items, and other assorted handicraft. About ninety percent (90%) of our products are designed by naturally gifted carvers whose training and skills were bequeathed to them by their forefathers. The products are traditionally polished to suit our customers' requirements. The name of each product depicts its history and origin. JOAFRICO is associated with Aid to Artisans Ghana (ATAG). CBI (Netherlands), Ghana Export Promotion Council and the Ghana National Association of Handicrafts Exporters. This associations enable JOAFRICO to access technical support, international market information, export requirements and training in export business.
